About Connie
Connie S. Firmin is a wife, a mom of 2 grown girls, and a grandma of 2 more girls. Even her pet dog is a girl. She loves nature, Jesus, the church, writing and all things zebra print. She is happily married to her high school sweetheart, but don’t be misled; things have not always been so happy or sweet.
At the young age of 18 during her senior year of high school, she found herself scared, confused and pregnant. While her friends worried about final exams and college acceptance letters, Connie focused on hiding a huge secret. As an unmarried, pregnant teen, she didn’t need anyone to tell her the consequences of sex before marriage. She was living it. Nearly all of her friends drifted off to college as she remained home to major in diaper changing and bottle feeding. Through the years she often wondered how she could help prevent others from taking this same lonely and difficult journey. At 37, she found herself with a new perspective of teen pregnancy when one of her daughters followed in her footsteps. Becoming the mom of a pregnant teen only fueled her desire to get the message out.
Today Connie lives in Louisiana and is an active member of her church. She loves spending time with the next generation and leads a connect group called Sparkle for teen girls focused on living a lifestyle of purity. Her life experiences have helped her speak into the lives of many girls. She has written a book called Sparkle to help girls everywhere with the tough topic of purity. Her vision is to see Sparkle connect groups thrive in churches across the country empowering the next generation of girls to walk in freedom. She longs for every young woman to embrace God’s version of purity and love herself as God loves her… to see herself as beautiful, valuable and precious!
